EDDIE McCALLION( update February 2010) To date 'Steady-Eddie', is entering his 12th season with Derry City, who currently hold an uncertain future. Eddie, completed last season and was awarded a testimonal against a League of Ireland Select on Wednesday 25th November 2009, which Eddie's side lost 4-2. Commenting on the match, Eddie stated, " I wanted to see goals scored, that's what the game was all about. There's nothing worse that a 0-0 result, so I was delighted that those who did attend watched six goals being scored I have to be honest with myself. Not only was it a terrible night to expect people to leave their homes, I was very happy not only for myself but for the Foyle Hospice," maintained the 30 year old. " Fair play to the Irish League players who travelled down to form the opposition. They wouldn't even take petrol money off me. The Derry City lads were also brilliant. We had players who don't know what the future holds after experiencing a difficult time at the Brandywell this year, but they all turned up knowning that an injury could have ruled them out of a move to a new club. I think that also says quite a lot," continued Eddie. Commenting on his own future, the full-back made it clear that he hoped to extend his 13 seasons at the Brandywell into another one at least, " I sincerely hope I'll be involved with my home town club next season, even if it is in the First Division. I think it's important that I try to play my part in getting the club back up into the Premier Division as soon as possible," he concluded
