To date James Knowles has been performing well with the Academy at Blackburn. He started for the U18s at the weekend in a heavy 6-1 defeat at the hands to Man Utd.

In 2010 James has featured in 3 out of the 5 games and named as an unused sub in the other 2 games. He scored his first and only goal of the season for the U18s in a 2-1 victory over Derby County in September 2009. He scored the winner in the 2nd half, after the Derby goalkeeper spilled a shot from Micah Evans and Knowles lobbed the rebound into the Derby net.
