Can this really be true? Found on Goal.com
Blackburn Rovers are set to make a shocking move to bring longtime Real Madrid stars Guti and Raul to Ewood Park this summer.
Manager Sam Allardyce wants to bring the pair to Blackburn and would like to have a deal done before the World Cup begins.
While both will be able to come to Rovers on a free transfer, the massive salary this both players earn could make the deal difficult to complete.
Allardyce will use the £3million bonus that Blackburn received for finishing tenth in the Premier League to pay for the Spanish pair, who he is keen to reunite with longtime Real team-mate Michel Salgado.
Allardyce is a big fan of Raul has scored an astonishing 323 goals in 741 games, but only 5 for Real in La Liga this season as the former Spain international has been stuck behind Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema this season.
The Blackburn boss also likes Guti, who is a playmaking midfielder with wonderful passing ability, but Champions League qualifiers Tottenham Hotspur are also interested.

Im sure Salgado had to take a huge paycut to come to Ewood and im sure his pal Guta wouldnt be out of the question as Salgado has already said he would recommend Rovers to anyone unsure about their future.
In my eyes, our next target must be a striker and James Beattie is still the man for me. He is local and good pals with Dunny.

think realistically we have about £5M to spend and i can see Sam signing Di Santo again either on loan or for £2-3M and maybe go for Dindane too, both young and good futures ahead. Beattie has past his best and never wanted to play for us first time around so i wouldnt give him another shot. also heard a rumour we could be making a move for robbie keane if spurs reduce the asking fee......... i did say i could see us making a move for him folks LOL!!!

I agree with you both. Dunny is said to have bigged up the opportunity to Beattie and their connection can't be a bad thing. I also believe Keane still has a decent season. At what price though?

Interesting one Brian, but never heard this myself. Raul would be out of the question and Guti would be somewhat realistic and certainly one that I would jump at if we had the chance of signing him. Incidentially, I signed him on CM and turned out to be a real gem of a player. In my eyes, our next target must be a striker and James Beattie is still the man for me. He is local and good pals with Dunny. Are you wise CW? Beattie is long past his best and he is no better than a Championship player at best. He has also been noted to have a very disruptive personality at the clubs he's been at recently. Thanks but no thanks.

id love to get robbie keane.but the asking price will probably range anything between 5 and 8 million pounds.and to be honest, big sam would be happy to spend that kind of money on 2-4 more players.and di santo has been linked to several clubs lately, but i havent seen rovers name been mentioned.

Di Santo is a workhorse and has quality but he doesnt score enough goals. I blame Sam mostly for that though cause he played him as a lone striker far too often last season.
Beattie might be past his best but were not going to sign anyone who is at their best!!!
I like Robbie Keane but I wouldnt be bursting a gut trying to sign him especially if the asking price was rather high.
Lets see what Sam comes up with and get behind the players we do have by the time next season starts!!!
