BOURNEMOUTH SACK JIMMY QUINN.It wasn't a good Christmas for Jimmy Quinn, as he was sacked by League 2 side Bournemouth FC on New Year's Eve after loosing two straight games over the festive period. Quinn took over the Cherries on 2nd September as they started the season on -17 points and had only picked up 2 points in the first month. Quinn brought around a change in fortune in his first month picking up 7 points from a possible 12. Former Northern Ireland International striker, Quinn had managed to get the ball rolling at Bournemount defeating 3 of the current top 6 teams in the league during his spell in charge. The month of December wasn't entirely successful for Bournemouth, as they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Blyth Spartans in the 2nd Round, but had picked up 2 wins and 2 draws during that month. Quinn who also had a 2 year playing spell at Ewood Park, managed to pick up 22 points in the league and get the club to the Quarter Final of the Johnston's Paint Trophy as well as taking notable scalps against MK Dons and Colchester who are pushing for promotion in Division 1. It has to be said that, it was a ruthless decision from the Chief Executive Alistair Saverimutto and the new consortium run by Adam Murry, to part company with Quinn and a decision that will probably haunt them come the end of the season.
