Our very own President Jimmy Quinn, accepted his post earlier this month and he too also took time to write a few words on his experience and time with Blackburn.
“I had a fantastic time at Blackburn, playing with some very good players, Fazackerly, Keeley, Barker, Brotherston, Miller, Garner, Brannagan. We just missed out on promotion to Division 1 twice, once by a point and then on goal difference.”
“My introduction to the club was a trip to the Isle of Man tournament, which was fantastic from a football and social point of view. Bobby Saxton was the manager and was very good to me. The first season was very good and also scored two hat tricks, one against Wolves at Molineaux and a ‘perfect hat-trick’, with my left, right and a header at Sheffield United.”
“The second year I struggled to score and got a bit of stick at the time, but kept believing in myself. This accumulated in me going back to Swindon Town and I eventually got my goal-scoring touch back.”
